About once per year, one of the rare Nikkor 6mm f/2.8 lenses out - TopicsExpress

About once per year, one of the rare Nikkor 6mm f/2.8 lenses out there pops up on eBay when some camera shop or another picks one up. The price ranges from $60K to $160K. The folks at Photografica in Denmark slapped their copy onto a Nikon D4s and created the video above showing the 6mm from all angles, and sample footage they captured with the incredible 220° field of view lens. They even go through the lens’s 5 built-in filters: Skylight L1BC, Medium Yellow Y48, Deep Yellow Y52, Orange O56 and Red R60. This particular lens isn’t in perfect condition, which explains the slightly lower price tag. According to the auction, “the body has signs of wear, inside the lens are dust particles and the front lens unfortunately has flaws in the coating.” But Photografica maintains the image the lens captures is sharp and issues with the coating are very difficult to see. If you’ve got approximately $70K in excess funds sitting around, check out the video above and then head over to the eBay auction where you can learn more, see many more pictures of the lens and all its flaws, and possibly drop some cash in Photografica’s pockets.
