Above Only Daily Devotional cgmglobal.org/aboveonly/today.php (Lire en français: cgmglobal.org/devotional/fr) Wednesday, May 28 THE WEAK CONSCIENCE Luke 3:21-22, Luke 4:3-4 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.*And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. -------------------------------------------------------------------- When a believers conscience is weak they wont have a strong conviction about the Truths that God wants them to know. The devil takes advantage of people who dont know their rights. Many people are living below Gods will for their lives because they dont have truth on their inside. In our text above, we see how the devil came to Jesus and said “if you are Gods Son” turn this stone into bread. This was immediately after God called Jesus His Beloved Son. Thank God that Jesus knew the Truth. He had Truth in His conscience. Out of His conscience, Truth came out; that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Jesus was victorious. The Truth he had on His inside made the devil unable to manipulate Him. When you have truth on your inside, you will not believe that it is your fathers sin that is responsible for what is going wrong in your life. Now that you are born again, you have been delivered from the kingdom of darkness and translated into the kingdom of Gods Son. You are washed by the blood of Christ and you are now royalty. You are a new creature because you are in Christ. People with weak conscience cannot take a stand for their rights in God and for what is right. To them everything is wrong. Hunger after Gods Truth and keep filling your heart with Gods Truth. Buy the truth and sell it not; feed on it. The devil will not be able to toss you about.
