Abraham Lincoln once wrote...I never met a person from whom I did not learn something That is key to the next block in Coach Woodens Pyramid. Again action on our part is needed and not just the action of paying attention, but also the purposeful application of what we learn. Coach Wooden says.... Be observing constantly, quick to spot a weakness and correct it -John Wooden- So with this in mind lets look at the action of ALERTNESS.... There is something going on around you at all times. If we stay alert, we can acquire knowledge from which we can draw to solve problems, correct error, and grow as an athlete and person. Alertness allows us not only to learn from others how things should be done correctly, it also helps us to see and avoid mistakes. Learning must be constant. If we stop observing the successes and failures of those around us we will be stuck in our own tunnel vision and miss the opportunity to learn and grow, we will loose the chance to gain the wisdom that is there for the taking. Mental toughness begins with the capacity to look outward, and it ends with being alert enough to learn and to change. Alertness is that asset that keeps you awake, and perceptive, and increases Skill. it is what you learn after you know it all that counts -John Wooden- #decidetobeunforgetable #raisethatscore #Xfantasy #pcmallgirlstrong #pcm4life
