Abu Ali Sina Balkhi (ابو علی سینا بلخی) was a Tajik physician and philosopher whose paternal family hailed from Balkh (now Afghanistan). Abu Ali Sina Balkhi, was born in 980 A.D. at Afshana near Bukhara then capital of the (Tajik Sunni Muslim-Samanid Empire). Bukhara was part of Kharasan and Kharasan was an independent country, according to Professor Wasef Bakhtari, is a poet, writer, linguist and historian. Abu Ali Sina Balkhi`s father was a Tajik from Balkh (now Afghanistan) and his mother was a Uzbek from Bukhara (now Uzbekistan). Iran Iran did not have a government at time of Rumi and Abu Ali Sina Balkhi. According to Bahram Moshiri is an historian: Iran did not have a government for more than a thousand years, he said. The Tajik Samanid Empire was originally from Balkh (now Afghanistan) and lasted for 300 years.
