Abuja Bus Station Bombings: Sad day for the Yoruba Federation. Bus Station bomb explodes in the Nigerian capital Abuja, killing more than 200 people. As at the last count, we have lost more than 10 Yoruba citizens. There were secondary explosions as vehicle fuel tanks ignited. We expect the number of casualties to increase. More than 50 Yoruba citizens have been injured. Nigeria is at war. We issue a Travel Warning when we want you to consider very carefully whether you should go to any Region outside the South-West. In the core North and some states in the Middle Belt, they are experiencing unstable government, civil war, ongoing intense crime or violence, or frequent terrorist attacks. We want you to know the risks of traveling to these places and to strongly consider not going to them at all. As election season is bound to have many strikes, demonstrations, or disturbances; a health alert like an outbreak of Ebola; or evidence of an elevated risk of terrorist attacks. When these short-term events are over, we cancel the Travel Alert. The Yoruba Federation Travel Warnings remain in place until the situation changes; some have been in effect for since 2012. Yoruba in the core North and some states in the Middle Belt like Nasarawa, Southern Kaduna, Benue, Jos area are advised to return to the Yoruba Federation.
