According to Celtic tradition, today is Lughnasadh (or Lammas) - the ancient feast of the wheat harvest! At this day Celts wore festive attire and went to the fields to begin the harvest ceremony. Head of the family cut off the first ears. Part of the collected ears was buried in the ground, and then the feast began. Main dish of the holiday was bread, other bakings, nuts, and fruits. In Lughnasadh Celts praised Lugh, the god and patron of agriculture and crafts. People went to the hilltops, lit bonfires, danced and sang. This holiday meant the transition from summer to autumn and was an abundant and blessed time. For druids and other people possessing magic it was favorable time for mastering something new. You can use this time and mix a new potion or defeat a new monster in the world of Witchcraft. Happy harvesting!
