Acculturation and assimilation will teach people to not only hate their looks, but also that those looks are inferior. This isnt far fetched. There are still many people of color who can and do pass for white. One of the things racist cops call people of color is animals. They also refer to them as ugly and monkey-like. Some teachers are a little more subtle, conveying their bias with facial language that clearly states that certain students are inferior. Ask the Indians about this as they suffered every day, as small kids, the disapproval of their white teachers. Sherman Alexi writes about this. And it takes much time and effort to overcome the damage. Some never get over it, living their entire lives hating themselves.
