Acoustically Directed Fire Suppression Control System - TopicsExpress

Acoustically Directed Fire Suppression Control System (ADFSCS) Since the microphones have a high sound threshold, I must tap on them in order to create a volume that is high enough. Concept: To quickly detect the location of threats, the ADFSCS uses multiple sound sensors to locate the direction of enemy gunfire. The onboard microcomputer directs the weapon toward that direction in order to provide rapid aiming for an efficient counterattack against sudden threats. The prototype provides a wide angle of protection for land combat vehicles such as MBTs, IFVs and APCs. Further modifications can allow warships to detect submarines, allow research vessels to detect marine life or allow rescue teams to locate the distressed. Three microphones (BOB-09964), connected as inputs to an Arduino, point in 3 different directions. Each incorporates sound isolation panels in order to block sound waves coming from other directions. A laser attached to a servo motor is controlled by the Arduino. The servo directs the laser in 3 distinct angles. It will point to the microphone in which the sound is more detected. The laser activates and deactivates through 1 push button.
