This role ensures that the Chief Executive’s office functions efficiently and effectively liaising with the ActionAid International Board and Senior Leadership Team. ActionAid International seeks to appoint a Leadership Advisor. AcctionAid Internation Directorate: Chief Executive Position Location: International Secretariat hubs Salary: from £45 489 per annum International Grade E Purpose of the Role: To provide federation-wide leadership development support towards strengthening management and governance leadership capability. Key responsibilities include but not limited to: •This will be done through proactively managing leadership risks related to the performance and development of senior leaders and building a high performance leadership culture through capacity building initiatives at individual, team and organisational level; •Custodian of ActionAids Leadership and Culture in support of AAIs international strategy; •Identifying and managing leadership transition risks in partnership with the SLT and FLT; •Design and deliver a Middle Management Leadership Programme for high potential young leadership and current middle management role holders; •Provide individual coaching to CDs and other senior managers as part of their leadership development support; •Working closely with the Governance Advisors support the embedding of the Member Development Plan (MDP) as framework for organisational development; •Support the Initiative to Strengthen Governance (ISG) focusing on leadership capacity building of boards and especially facilitating initiatives that will strengthen board-management relationships; •Development and delivery of the AAI Women Leadership Development Programme, informed by feminist leadership principles and addressing women’s rights issues within the organisation; •Design and deliver a Middle Management Leadership Programme for high potential young leadership and current middle management role holders. Desired Skills and Experience The successful candidate will have: •Postgraduate business management , humanities, social sciences; •Executive Coaching and management development; •Minimum 5 years in senior management position as part of an Executive Directorate Team with Board accountability; •Applied psychology / industrial psychology / organisational psychology; •Significant practical experience of managing complex projects and programmes in developing countries, including those with multiple funding streams and dispersed human resources, and preferably in the area of sustainable livelihoods.
