Acts 1:13-14 When they had entered the city, they went up to the upper room where they were staying; that is, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James. These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer, This is a picture of Iraqi Christians who have gathered in a church in northern Iraq, seeking refuge. Its not Sunday. Its just another day as they flee from their persecutors. It brought to our mind this passage from the book of Acts. These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer. We sit in churches just like this one each week, but were not running from anything or anyone. Doesnt that building take on greater significance when you see it in the light that THEY see it today? Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.
