Admin: Please remove if not allowed. Looking for seasoned horse-folks advice on preparing our land for horses. I had two TWH when I was a teen, but that was some time ago. Our horses will be for pleasure, trails, etc. Nothing fancy. We are in the process of building a run-in, paddock, round pen, and fencing about 5 acres. Plan to use stone dust and river sand in the round pen. Any advice on preventing mud holes in my run-in, paddock and pasture would be great. (Geo-textile yea/nay?) Also, what kinds of grasses, etc. do you like for good horse pasture? Ive done some research, but I also like having tried and true experienced advice from real people.
