Advice Issued For: Mernda, Yan Yean Fire Origin: MERNDA Incident Name: Issued: 21/01/14 7:16 PM This message is being issued by Country Fire Authority for Mernda, Yan Yean and Eden Park. Firefighters have stopped the spread of the grassfire starting in Bridge Inn Road and it is now under control. Firecrews are in the area and smoke may still be visible. Communities are no longer under threat. Bridge Inn Road and Masons Road are closed and there is traffic in the area. The next update is expected by 21/01/14 12:00 AM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024. Stay Informed: Via cfa.vic.gov.au. Tune to ABC Local Radio, commercial and designated community radio stations, or Sky News TV. Call the Victorian Bushfire Information Line (VBIL) on freecall 1800 240 667.
