Advice Issued For: Omeo, Uplands, Hinnomunjie, Bingo Munjie, Bingo Munjie North, Omeo Valley, The Brothers, Benambra Fire Origin: 58 KMS SSW OF CORRYONG Incident Name: CORRYONG - KINGS CREEK Issued: 27/01/14 6:17 PM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Omeo, Uplands, Hinnomunjie, Bingo Munjie, Bingo Munjie North, Omeo Valley, The Brothers, Benambra. Firefighters are responding to a fire in the 58 KMS SSW OF CORRYONG area. There is still fire activity in the Kings Creek area, approximately 30km north, north east of Benambra. The bushfire is now Contained. Firefighters have stopped the spread of fire. Fire may still be burning within the control lines. The fire will still require continuous monitoring. Fire activity continues with heavy machinery working in the area and aircraft monitoring the fire area. The Benambra - Corryong Road remains closed between Sassafras Gap and Kings Flat, Uplands. The road has been closed in the interest of public safety due to falling trees and debris over the road. The following tracks are closed: - Kings Creek Track - Eustace Gap Track - King Spur Track - Dartmouth track The following camping area is open but can ONLY be accessed by water: - Eustace Gap camp There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads. Increased temperatures have been forecast for the coming week, which may increase fire activity. Fire crews will continue to monitor the situation. The next update is expected by 28/01/14 11:30 AM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024. Stay Informed: Via depi.vic.gov.au.
