Advice Issued For: Roberts, Drummond Point, Enochs Point, Matlock, Paradise Point, Raspberry Point, Shaw, St Clair, The Oaks, The Triangle, View Point, A1 Mine Settlement, Gaffneys Creek, Woods Point, The Springs, Alhambra Fire Origin: 15 KM WNW MATLOCK Incident Name: BIG RIVER - FRENCHMANS CREEK T Issued: 17/01/14 5:56 PM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Roberts, Drummond Point, Enochs Point, Matlock, Paradise Point, Raspberry Point, Shaw, St Clair, The Oaks, The Triangle, View Point, A1 Mine Settlement, Gaffneys Creek, Woods Point, The Springs, Alhambra. Firefighters are working in steep country on the bushfire 15 KM WNW MATLOCK . The fire has burnt 50 hectares and is not yet under control. Fire activity has marginally increased over the last hour. A wind change expected around midnight may shift the direction of the fire. The fire may travel in a more easterly direction towards Woods Point, and then a more north-easterly direction, towards the communities between A1 Mine Settlement and Paradise Point. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Campers along the Upper Big River Road are advised to leave the area. The Big River Road is closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles between Jamieson -Eildon Road and Eildon - Warburton Road. Stay up to date with road closures at vicroads.vic.gov.au. The next update is expected by 17/01/14 10:00 PM or as the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nuse on Call on 1300 606 024.
