Advice Issued For: Uplands, Benambra Fire Origin: 58 KMS SSW OF CORRYONG Incident Name: CORRYONG - KINGS CREEK Issued: 17/01/14 2:00 PM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Uplands, Benambra. Firefighters are responding to a fire in the 58 KMS SSW OF CORRYONG area. There are currently two fires burning in the Kings Creek area, approximately 30km NNE of Benambra Township. The fires are burning in very steep, inaccessible country. Fire activity will increase as the temperature increases. Aircraft are working with ground crews to suppress the fire. Smoke will be visible from surrounding locations and may impact visibility for people traveling on the Corryong-Benambra Road. People traveling on the Corryong-Benambra Road are also advised that fire response vehicles and heavy machinery are operating in the area. There is currently no threat to communities. The next update is expected by 17/01/14 6:00 PM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024. Stay Informed: Via cfa.vic.gov.au. Tune to ABC Local Radio, commercial and designated community radio stations, or Sky News TV. Call the Victorian Bushfire Information Line (VBIL) on freecall 1800 240 667.
