African Cosmology dispelling the lies of the Missionary terminologies on itself! Badimo-Ancestors Not Gods or Ancestoral Spirits but Human Experience! Since the word 'Modimo' does not directly translatable to mean God therefore Badimo does not mean 'Gods' as popularised by Missionaries and their converts African Theologians. Whenever an African speaks about this experience of contact with Badimo it is about person to person contact not of a vision or an apparation. The words used is to relate the experience are:Ke bone Bonkgono or Ke bone Bo-Ntate Moholo or Ke bone mofu Mme-meaning 'I have seen my Grandmothers or I have seen my Grandfather or I have seen my late Mother.'It is as it sounds in the vocabulary of Our People-The person of the Ancestor that has been experienced is a 'Person' not a Deity or Spirits. The Missionaries wrote volumes of this subjects presenting their misunderstanding of African Cosmology as truth claiming the Africans Worship the Spirit of Their Dead Ancestors and going further to claim 'Ancestoral Cult' among the Africans. The Africans self defination of homage to the Ancestors is not termed worship or practiced as a worship. In the Batswana language where name Modimo and Badimo come from there is no such words as 'Re rapela Badimo(We worship the Ancestors) but 'Re direla Badimo' meaning 'We serve-fulfilling all proper duties towards,that is,provide them with the necessities of life,food,clothing,etc. The African Logic of this is that Badimo are merely 'Our Deceased Parents' not Dieties wrongfully called Gods by the Missionaries. Parenthood in the African Concept is not limited to the physical relationship. It spells authority over one which originates beyond the two parties concerned. Parenthood even while the parent is living,is an intermediary rank and a channel of forces which span the various levels of Being in this life,across the homes and clans in the total community of Village and Tribe as well as with the unseen world of BoModimo(Divinity) which is strongly inclined to be identified with the Underground whose gateway is the grave. This 'Mosima(Koti among Basotho is 'ha koti a setlale koti se ka olela ditshaba,mefutafuta le merabe ya batho)' is from whence the first people come and to which all go...Mosima wa Ga-Loowe where Loowe the Agent Modimo first led the people out of and return alone to be followed by people one by one after their human experience on this plane of visible existence.
