After 12 years of being the dutiful little dog, DJ gets taken to Brooklyn ACC - reportedly because someone in the family developed “allergies." While they mention he has a heart murmur, they never mentioned the growths around his anal glands—growths that ACC vets have identified as benign tumors, not uncommon in older, unneutered dogs. But these are very uncomfortable and if not treated, can create more problems. DJ’s "family" reports he lived with dogs, is friendly around strangers, ignores kids, and knows commands. So, what does DJ need now? He needs a responsible human to provide him with the care he so deserves. He needs to be seen by a vet to determine what the best course of treatment might be for those painful, uncomfortable growths around his rear. He needs someone who will groom him regularly, who will give him some decent food, and who will pamper this little guy as he should be pampered. But he’s at ACC, and their answer to this problem is to put little DJ on tomorrow morning’s euthanasia list. DJ is desperately looking for someone to take him out of this awful, noisy, scary place.
