After 20 years, Jacob was about to meet for the first time, his brother Esau whom he had cheated out of his birthright (Gen. 25:33) and his blessings (Gen. 27:27-40). Understandably so, Jacob was frantic with fear. Jacob collected his thoughts, however, and decided to pray. His prayer was born out of a need for divine protection, based on the covenant relationship which the Lord had established with him and his forefathers. Furthermore, he prayed in humility of spirit and in accordance to the word of the Lord, claiming the promises of God. Humbly, Jacob extended a hand of reconciliation to Esau, admitting his guilt by giving him a generous peace offering. By this act, Jacob has faced God with his relationships and has sought forgiveness. More of the message at ccf-alabang.org/
