After 3 days of at home entertaining for both planned and unplanned guests, I have to give a shout out to my mum Wanda Stairs Howard. She taught me how to prepare delicious meals, how to set a beautiful table and above all, how to make everyone feel welcomed, loved and full. I am so grateful to possess these gifts. Mums kitchen table was the meeting place for nurturing, laughter and love. She loved cooking for her family and friends. She served coffee all day long. I am not a coffee drinker but I have been trying to uphold her dedication to putting a pot on for guests since she passed in June. *I have made a lot of coffee. Decades of time are chronicled through pictures of mum sitting at the kitchen or dining room table. I am posting a few special favorites along with a photo of the last table mum set. Two weeks before she returned to heaven she set this table of treats for us at the cottage in Truro. Every time I set a pretty table, prepare a perfect cup of coffee or make someone happy with a great meal, I think of mum. ♥
