After 9 hours of the worst kind of Christmas music, a poor guy - TopicsExpress

After 9 hours of the worst kind of Christmas music, a poor guy needs something real. This is what I grew up on, and its still my favorite carol. For me, this is what Christmas is all about. You cant beat the original, but the English translation is beautiful as well: Lo, how a rose eer blooming, From tender stem hath sprung. Of Jesses lineage coming, As men of old have sung; It came, a flowret bright, Amid the cold of winter, When half spent was the night. Isaiah twas foretold it, The Rose I have in mind, With Mary we behold it, The virgin mother kind; To show Gods love aright, She bore to men a Savior, When half spent was the night. O Flower, whose fragrance tender With sweetness fills the air, Dispel with glorious splendour The darkness everywhere; True man, yet very God, From Sin and death now save us, And share our every load. O Saviour, Child of Mary, Who felt our human woe; O Saviour, King of Glory, Who dost our weakness know, Bring us at length we pray, To the bright courts of Heaven And to the endless day. https://youtube/watch?v=y7y05TrzeHo
