After I posted the statement of Shaykh al-Albaanee below about - TopicsExpress

After I posted the statement of Shaykh al-Albaanee below about 5hrs ago, my mind became extremely restless. Shaykh Al-Albanee (Rahimahullaahu Ta’aala) said: The Majority of the Students of today give Fataawaa in Ignorance. They are fond of themselves, they think Knowledge is an easy question. They think just because they have memorized some Hadeeth, or read some book, that they have all of the worlds (containing) Knowledge. However, the great Imaams used to refer to others because of the great responsibility an answer consist of. (Silsilatul Huda wan-Noor 257) ***** I kept asking myself the following questions: 1) Imaam al-Albaanee wrote so many books; most printed while others are yet to be printed. Some are in large volumes, e.g Silsilatus Saheehah and Dhaeefah, Irwaaul Ghaleel, Saheeh Sunan Abee Daawood etc. while others are in single volumes. My worry is; (a) Could the shaykh have succeeded in writing all those volumes of books if he was active on facebook? (b) Could it have been possible for you and me to quote from his works, if he was busy making facebook updates, the way and manner you and me does today, instead of studying and researching? (c) Could it have been possible for him to produce his celebrated students who are themselves scholars e.g The Shaykhs Sameer, Alee Hasan al-Halabee, Aboo Ishhaq al-Huwaynee, Mashhoor Hasan Aal-Salmaan, etc? (d) What if those students of his were also on facebook, could it have been possible for us to benefit from their numerous works and books? 2) What of the other great Imams and Shaykhs? The likes of Shaykhs ibn Baaz, ibn Uthaymeen, Aal-Shaykh, Gudayyaan, Al-Haadi Madhkhalee, Muqbil, Ummu AbdiLlaah Al-Waadee, Bazmool, Fawzaan etc What if they were also on facebook, what would have been the state of the Umaah today? 3) I become even more worried whenever the fundamental books of the deen are mentioned for the people to reference from, and then the next thing you start hearing is, Have those books been translated into English? SubhanaLlaah. What have we been preaching all these while if we in reality lack the usool? Silsilatus Saheehah and Daeefah, Irwaaul Ghaleel, Taarikhul Damashkh, Naylul Awtaar, Aslu siffatus salaat, Fathhul Baaree, and many many more are yet to be translated into English language, if am not mistaken. So where do we derive our evidences from? 4) So now that we are here without the presence of our scholars to guide us, do we still think we are doing the right thing by discussing every matter of the deen, including those still hanging between the scholars, due to differences of opinion? Have we learnt enough fundamentals of the deen to keep us and others we intend to teach safe from misguidance? Do we truly have time to sit with a learned scholar(s) to learn? Do we have enough time for research? With all these questions and many bothering my mind since afternoon, I find my self between the waswaas in my heart and following the above advice of the Shaykh. May Allaah guide us all to the right decision
