After a day of construction and electrical work in close to 50*c - TopicsExpress

After a day of construction and electrical work in close to 50*c heat in Akre refugee camp, I stopped for lunch. Two residents of the camp also doing construction work called me over to join them for a feast and drinks that they insisted on paying for. When they left, a little Syrian girl with a damaged eye gave me a delicious ice lolly. Before I could get back to work my good friend invited me for some Argentinian chai and a pleasant discussion about our homes. When the days work was done a lovely family invited me for dinner, scraping together something impossibly amazing from WFP rations and whatever else they could get hold of. The generosity and hospitality of these people, whose world has literally been torn apart,is something that many could, and should, learn from.
