After a friend informed me of Cure Internationals offer for free surgery to any child who was born with a cleft lip palate deformity, I got in touch with a friend at home who had informed me of a baby who needed to undergo the surgery. And in two days time they were at the Kijabe based medical institution. Screening was done on the 4 month old infant ahead of surgery only for tests to reveal that Baby Isabella has a hole in her heart. This in turn means that she cannot undergo the corrective palate surgery until a cardiologist gives her a clean bill of health. Its sad but we thank God that her condition was discovered early, something we would probably never have known in time. Unfortunately, the doctors at Kijabe fly out tomorrow until March 2015 when they will be back for another free exercise. I am trying to get in touch with Mater Hospital or anyone else that can assist Baby Isabella get her heart condition treated. If anyone here can be of help I will really appreciate. Baby Isabella needs a second chance and her smile back. I cant wait for her to be well na shule twende. Kindly inbox.
