After almost 50 years of living on this planet, I think it is safe to say I have a love/hate relationship with October. Whats not to love? The enchanting harbinger of changing leaves, sweater and fireplace weather; Gods handiwork is displayed in its finest array . . . . and my sinuses rebel. Im not sure when it happened exactly, but the inner workings of my noggin have decided they dont like the change of seasons . . . and it is excruciating! The worst part is that my head anticipates the bad weather . . ..so on pretty days Im in terrible, curl-into-a-fetal-position pain and when the rain starts, Im fine .. . hardly conducive to fall fun and hijinks. And, full disclosure, my other problem with October is .. .at the risk of getting rotten FB eggs thrown at me, Halloween. I hate it. Sure, trick or treating is fun but people, why do you need to duct tape a fake dismembered body to the grill of your car? Why do you have to set up your yard like a cemetery? I just dont get it -- pumpkins, yes, fake skeletons, fun stuff, yes. . . but full-on recreations of ghoulish scenes in your yard and car and . . . wherever? Nah, its beyond me. end of rant. discusss.
