After last nights Movie Night disaster with Wolf of Wall Street we decided to cleanse our systems and try again with Saving Mr. Banks. A masterpiece, beautifully written and directed and you cant really go wrong with Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson. It has heart and depth, sweetness and gravitas, and the scenes with the Sherman Brothers improvising their greatest hits are pure charm. The dark moments (and there are a few) are handled with delicacy and taste. All the performances, major and minor, are terrific. Outstanding. Had me from beginning to end.
