After mollys surgery yesterday we had a bad meltdown which saw - TopicsExpress

After mollys surgery yesterday we had a bad meltdown which saw molly bite her tongue quite badly but thankfully that didnt stop us getting home! Molly is very sore as they had to stretch her stoma from a 9fr to a 14fr ( for those who need it a bit more simply - the hole her old peg went into wasnt big enough for her new button so it had to be made bigger! ) so as you can imagine she feels a bit battered and has a very sore throat from the breathing tube. She has been started on preventative antibiotics today which are to hopefully keep her from getting too sick this winter as her immune system is struggling with all the bugs around. So mollys new tube - its a mic-key button which is different from a peg in that it can be replaced without surgery, it can fall out if the balloon holding it in pops or leaks and if pulled hard enough it can also find a way out but is easily replaced as long as its noticed quickly as a stoma can close very quickly (within hours). She no longer has a tube that dangles - we attach a tube when we need to use her button! Thanks for all your continuing prayers and support!! Xx
