After much deliberation i have finally settled on names for each of our age groups. As its all under Euphoria Cheer, most cheerleading teams have separate names for each of their age groups for competition (some age groups within Euphoria in different places will be competing against each other when we all compete together,) and advertising etc. so here we go :) 6 and under , Strabane : Euphoria Twinkles (Tiny) 7 and under , Dungannon : Euphoria Diamonds (Tiny) 7 and under : Coleraine : Euphoria Sapphire (Tiny) 9 and under , Strabane : Euphoria Pearl (Teenies) 12 and under : Dungannon : Euphoria Ruby (Junior A) 12 and under : Coleraine : Euphoria Amber (junior A) 16 and under : Strabane : Euphoria Ivory (Junior B) 18 and under : Coleraine : Euphoria Crystal (Senior) 18 and under : Dungannon : Euphoria Coral (Senior) *** If your new to Cheerleading, Dont worry if this doesnt make a lot of sense to you. Over the next few months and competitions it will all become much clearer. Team members are allowed to compete in up to 3 teams within their cheerleading company. eg; someone from dungannon could be on Ruby and Coral which are both junior and senior teams. This is common when the coach recognises their potential and thinks they would benefit themselves and their team mates from being in more than one team. It is always discussed with parents and how they feel before a child is put onto a different or multiple teams. Please take note of your/ your childs team name and familiarise yourself with it. New members will be slotted into these teams up until October and then we will close the books until after our First competition, ( The Northern Ireland Cheerleading Championships ) in March in Belfast. There will be a Welcome back meeting mid September to discuss future competitions, uniform costs, payment plans etc and anyone wishing not to be a part of any of our competition teams can still train with us weekly and take part in performances etc. We will also have our Cheeraton on the last week before we break for our 4 week summer break. it will be during our normal nights/day practice. (14th,15th,16th August) it will be a sponsored event for much needed pom poms. more info and sponsor sheets will be given out to all classes next week.
