After some issues with wifi, back with pics from Espana and our visit to Caves Naveran, a most excellent cava producer. Mollie and Grady enjoyed exploring the vast vineyards and I may have drooled a bit in the cellar with some patiently waiting bottles of Perles Roses and then a rack of what will hopefully coming to Texas very soon. They have a chapel right next to the main house built in 1762 and restored in the 1980s. We were treated to an amazing lunch featuring a Catalan seafood ragu. Bon Vivant doesnt come close to describing our host/winemaker Michel Gillieron Parellada, who afterwards plied me with a Cuban cigar, 18 year old whiskeys from Scotland and Japan, Kentucky bourbon, some brandy his father made and oak aged grappa. Special thanks to export manager/amigo Joan Duran, who then drove us to Batea in the Terra Alta region to reunite with our dear amigo, Juan Jose Galcera Piñol. More on that visit tomorrow.
