Afternoon all... The change to colder conditions is now evident on satellite imagery in the form of a cold front which is bringing outbreaks of rain across more northern and western areas. The satellite image highlights well the latest position of the cold front with parts of Leinster and Munster still dry with some bright spells ahead of it. Of importance here is that as the rain clears overnight then there will be a late clearance in the cloud into the early hours of Tuesday morning. There is, as a result of clear skies and damp surface, a risk of ice by Tuesday morning and this is something to be aware of. Latest forecast model data clearly highlights many inland areas seeing surface temperatures sub-zero on Tuesday morning and this is the first risk of widespread ice of the season, so caution required first thing tomorrow morning.
