Ah, another election. Sentinel-endorsed candidates went down, mostly, to defeat as Amanda Jackson Miller is cruising to easy victory in Soquel school board race (I had to sit that endorsement out since my wife works in the district) and Greg Caput is ahead for PV supervisor. Measures H, I, J --- all anti-Assemblyman Luis Alejo initiatives in Watsonville -- will all win easily. At least our choice for sheriff, Jim Hart, is far ahead. In Monterey Peninsula, Measure O, the anti-Cal Am initiative that would study public ownership of the Peninsula water system, looks like it will lose. Didnt hurt that Cal Am outspent proponents more than 26-1 (a staggering $2.6 million to make their case). Funny, because letters to the editor in Monterey to the Herald were probably 5-1 pro-O. santacruzsentinel/ montereyherald/
