Ah, tis the season of FOO (family) shenanigans. I was reminded of the wise words of GB, Theyre just doing what they always do. When he first said back in the day I thought he was being cynical, but now I understand the deeper meaning. Does this mean people are locked into certain dysfunctional patterns and behaviors? Not necessarily, but we know how much work and consciousness it takes to shift out, especially the older we get. I love how author Jeff Brown had a recent post on this very subject and the observation (which I also share,) that some people are here simply to be Bengali Tea Boys in our life as Ani Pema would say. So what are they? Annoying little brats that bug the sh*t out of us and also reveal to us where we are stuck, resentful and judgmental. I have an Aries moon so I get it. Patience was not a virtue that I was born with. Maybe its not their path to wake up to their own stuff in this life, but we dont have to join others in going back to sleep. It would make sense that in a year of cosmic and collective initiation some old habits and policies would die hard. This year we can choose differently. We can hold a space of love and compassion for others and ourselves, no matter how challenging it is. Sure it may be hard at times, but like the Keepers often have told us, You are meant for these times. How do I know that? Youre here and youre doing it peeps.
