Ahsan Ayaz. Pakistan, PSA world ranked No: 304 Backhand drop drill: The backhand drop is a good solid stroke but there is a lot of room for improvement. The shot is very orthodox, which means it is played with the left foot leading every time. Learn to play the drop just as effectively with an open stance and the right foot leading. The leading leg is often too straight and this results in a tendency to lean back a little too much and the drop is played standing too upright. Learn to bend the knee and get lower to the ball. This will give better vision and improve accuracy during execution. Like the forehand. Learn to vary the drill more by playing a high backhand or forehand boast, followed by a drop, which will give a more realistic match condition to the practice. The racquet swing: Try holding the ball a little longer at times with a high, more neutral start position. A higher position and holding the ball a little longer will give the ability to change the shot at short notice if required. There is a lot of use of the wrist at times, particularly a slight twist of the wrist just before the point of striking the ball. This makes the shot a bit more unpredictable and is the main reason one or two balls finish in the tin. A more solid wrist and learning to punch the ball in with a bit more authority and speed would greatly improve the final execution and accuracy. Note: The comments may seem like a lot to think about, but these are actually very small corrections that can make a big difference to the way the shot is executed and will greatly improve the overall control and accuracy of the stroke.
