Aijaz Banday passes away! Srinagar, Nov 17: A noted banker and Director of JK Bank’s Regional Self Employment Training Institute Aijaz Ahmad Banday, 53, breathed his last after a brief spell of illness here on Sunday evening. He is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters. The deceased is the brother of a known medico and Greater Kashmir columnist Dr Abdul Waheed. Aijaz Ahmad Banday had done his B.Com from Islamia College and had completed his M.Com from University of Kashmir in 1984. After finishing his education he was appointed in Jammu and Kashmir Bank. His hard work and dedication earned him laurels and he served on key positions in JK Bank till a few months ago. He was born at Pandan Nowahata in old city from where he moved to Habib Colony Parraypora in uptown here. He was undergoing treatment for cancer at SKIMS Soura. After doctors lost hope he was taken to his brother’s residence at Shah Faisal Colony Buchpora, where he breathed his last. His funeral prayers would be offered at 10:30 am at Shah Faisal Colony Buchpora on Monday (Nov 18) and he would be laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard at Budshah Sahib Zainakadal in old city.
