Aint necessarily so. So encouraged for Amy R. who matriculates at Temple University School of Medicine this week. Have had the privilege of having her rotate in my practice for the past 2 years. She was a quick study, learning essentials of communication, setting expectations, factoring contingency plans as well as knowing your own abilities. I know that she is entering medicine with her eyes open and the belief that change is possible. Medicine is like any other 21st century profession, the rules of engagement are continually changing and any practitioner owes it to their patients, staff and family to attend to industry standards of continual process improvement and risk management. When you dont love it, perhaps its time to try plan B.
