Air Force supports White Ribbon Day A C-130J Hercules displays the White Ribbon artwork as it flies over Parliament House and the Sydney coastline raaf.gov.au/11RkO1o and raaf.gov.au/11RBnLA The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) is supporting White Ribbon Day on November 25 through a series of initiatives. White Ribbons measuring 4.64-metres in height have been applied to the tail of a C-130J Hercules from RAAF Base Richmond’s No. 37 Squadron. The Hercules will display the White Ribbons in flypasts on November 25 over Parliament House in Canberra and Coogee Beach in Sydney. Further to this, personnel at RAAF Base Richmond are also conducting a number of fundraising initiatives, including a Front Gate Donation Collection, and a Fun Run. RAAF Base Richmond personnel participated in an oath-swearing with New South Wales Police in Windsor to uphold their commitment to prevent violence against women, whilst several key executives within the RAAF’s Air Mobility Group (AMG) have sought training and accreditation as White Ribbon Ambassadors, in an effort to better incorporate White Ribbon’s own values within AMG Squadrons and Units. White Ribbon is the world’s largest male-led movement to end men’s violence against women, and is focused on changing attitudes and behaviours that lead to and perpetuate men’s violence against women.
