Akwa Ibom has repositioned for rapid growth, says Akpabio The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio has declared that the government in the past seven years has repositioned the state for rapid economic growth through Ibaka seaport, expanded tourism, and Agro based empowerment scheme Governor Akpabio, who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour and Industrial relation, Mr. Godwin Odum made the declaration while declaring open the Capacity Building /National Executive Council {NEC) meeting of the Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI) in Uyo, the State Capital He said: “We have repositioned the state for rapid economic growth through Ibaka seaport, expanded tourism, agro based empowerment scheme, state driven mechanised agriculture diversifed from petro-based economy for strategic macro-economic stabilisation of the south-south region.”
