Alaska Tidbit of the Day: The campus was built mostly in the 1960s and 1970s, which makes sense, since thats when many universities were expanding because of the baby boom, and it was just after statehood (though the university was started in 1917). The trouble is that the architecture of that period wasnt the prettiest in the world. Its the anti-Indiana University. But the Tanana River Valley itself is just gorgeous, so you forgive the architecture.
