Alaska trip reflection # 6 - We met Tall (his real name) and Jan, a single couple with a cute, three year old daughter, on our Alaskan Air flight from Seattle to San Francisco. They are both biologists from Oregon State University and have spent the past two summers studying brown bears in the Haines, Alaska, region. They met while students at UC Berkeley (Go Bears!). They were surprised that my precious Bonnie and I have been married for 56 years. They told me they had occasionally discussed getting married. I told them that marriage brings a sense of security in a relationship, especially to the woman. They read separately, "My Top Ten List for Marriage" and he read the Billy Graham booklet.
