Alhamdulilah a total of 47 Muslim Countries World wide officially recognise Mawlid as a Public Holiday, except for Saudi and Qatar, however also in these countries there are muslims who do the Mawlid Gatherings in their Homes. Prior to 1924 under Ottoman Caliphate Mawlid was also a Public Holiday in this blessed land. Beloved Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) said: “Allah will never allow my Ummah to unite upon misguidance and incorrect beliefs. Allah’s mercy, blessings and protection are with the LARGEST group of Muslims. (Sunan Al Tirmizi) Alhamdulilah we are amongst the Largest group of Muslims. Mawlid Gatherings consist of Quran recitation, nasheeds, and we discuss the Seerah (Life) of the Beloved Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) None of the above Practices are Innovations. In Saudi they commemorate the Mawlid of their country, on 23rd of September each Year. They thank Allah for this blessing. However when we thank Allah for the Blessing of the best of Creation (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) in the form of Mawlid gatherings they have a problem.
