All of us go to temple .. Do we ever think why we follow certain guidelines .. Today my son Susheel Wadhwa gave me the following explanation that he had heard from Swami Parmarthananda... Im not good at explaining exactly as he said but still make a small attempt to share what I heard We leave footwear outside temple.. It signifies that we have to leave out our negativity We break the coconut that is Ego.. Guru( panditji) lights the camphor to signify that we burn our bad karmas... Once the bad karma is burned The Lord manifests.. Camphor is the only thing that evaporates when lighted, likewise our bad karmas evaporate in the presence of The Lord ... We have to go to temple often to remind ourselves of the truth that Lord is always present but he manifests only we let go of Negativity , Ego, and bad karmas.. Proud that today a son explained to his mother life truths... God bless him
