All preachers, I repeat, ALL preachers must be TRAINED. A call to preach is a call to DISCIPLINED study and training by one or more qualified spiritual fathers/mothers and/or clergy training programs. How many would let a surgeon operate on them who was simply zealous about medicine? Zeal must propel one to get KNOWLEDGE. Even REVELATION must pass the KNOWLEDGE of Gods Word test. I would take this a step further to suggest that those who formally handle Gods Word are called to be THEOLGIANS - experts in theology or the study of God. Why should you teach me about God if you have not developed an expertise in the study of Who God is? And no, this does not at all negate the Spirit. The Spirit is motivated in seeing that we are led and guided into truth (John 16:13). And notice that in that verse, Jesus is speaking to his DISCIPLES (students) who had sat at His feet for nearly three years. And what is truth? ...thy Word is truth (John 17:17). Until you have sat to study (as in being a disciple and a student), keep sitting. Having said that, senior pastors, we have an obligation to TRAIN our disciples. 2015 will be a year of training as we increase capacity for end-time harvest.
