All relative phenomena is just appearance. In reality, it is like space itself -- completely beyond all appearances of the elements. Each of us is nothing but awareness. Awareness cannot be harmed or threatened; it is completely beyond harm or threat. Whatever threatens or harms us is also awareness, without any characteristics and without anything we can pinpoint. So all that we perceive as appearance is basically a projection of our mind.
