Dear Friends Greetings from TamilNadu Child Rights Observatory. As you are aware the Ministry of Women and Child Development,Govt. of India has circulated the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill 2014, which is aimed at repeal and reenactment of the JJ Act 2000, It has called for suggestions and comments from the Civil Society organizations and individuals on the proposed bill before 3rd July 2014. In view of the above, TNCRO is consolidating the views of child rights organizations in TamilNadu to be submitted to the ministry. The proposed bill can be viewed in the attached link. We request you to share your concerns on the proposed bill so that TNCRO can take your concerns into consideration while preparing the representation. Since the days are very short we request you to submit your views latest by 28th June 2014 that could give us time to consider all the views and prepare a consolidated view on the bill. Please do take time and share your energy and knowledge in sending us your concerns and suggestions on the proposed bill in ensuring that the bill serves the better interest of the child in protecting and promoting a safe environment for children in the country.
