Allow me to tell you something kind of funny that happened to me today. I went to a church service (I actually went to 2 different churches this morning, thats how dedicated I am, but I digress). Walking to the building (after being in a long car line just to get to the parking lot, but again, I digress), one of my shoe strap breaks toward the toes where it holds your foot in the shoe. My husband tells me I could go home & change since the church is not that far from our house. But I make it to a table & chair & sit down outside to try & fix it. It comes loose again as soon as I start back walking. (Normally, I would have had a second pair in my car, but Id taken them out.) I continue to try walking like nothings really wrong, but theres nothing to hold my shoe on my foot. Determined when I get inside the sanctuary that Im going to fix it enough to work, I become McGyver. I chewed a piece of gum (which I hardly ever do...gum is just not my thing). I took a piece off after getting the sugar out & put in on the strap part that had pulled out of the slot, pushed it back in, got my praise on while standing on that part so it could hopefully stick like glue. It worked well enough for me to leave without having to walk barefoot (yes, I can if I have to). I brought my husband home, came in the house, the strap then came out of the slot again (but yay, I made it), I threw them in the trash (I loved those shoes, but it was their time), changed shoes, then off to the second church I went! Im just a no excuses kind of woman. I will MAKE it work!
