Almost forgot todays #FridayFeaturedAlbum! Taking a step towards the heavier end of Rock music, including this album is a bit of an indulgence on my part as it didnt spawn any hit singles, and didnt really make an impact on the mainstream like, say, Nirvanas stuff did. However, Anthraxs 1993 album Sound of White Noise deserves a place on here because, in all honesty, Six String Trauma wouldnt have existed without it. Although we didnt cover any songs from this album (but we did play Got the Time from one of their other albums), this album is important to SST because it was the one that convinced Hadleigh to play drums. Not that the drumming is beyond the standard youd expect on this type of record - rather it was because the bands drummer, Charlie Bennante, was also one of the bands cheif song writers. If he can still play a big role in the band as a drummer, then it made it okay to play drums too. You might not have heard anything off this album, but it still has some cracking songs, like Only, Room For One More, Hy Pro Glo and Black Lodge. If you like heavy rock its definitely worth checking out! For more 90s Alt-Rock nostalgia keep following us in the run up to our reunion gig on November 1st - get your tickets at sixstringtrauma.eventbrite.co.uk/ !
