Alone A Poem by Sol Samuels To wake each morning To find no one there No one lying next to me Just a seemingly endless void Like sleeping precariously On the edge of a black hole. Barely living, simply surviving With no one there to share Sharing the good times Sharing the bad times Enjoying the togetherness Halving the pain. How much longer must I endure How much more must I suffer Oh how I wish this would end How I wish I did not have Such intimate knowledge of the concept Alone.
