Alright Here goes nothing! Graduated and moved in with my Best Friend Mike, we were married in November/1976 and still going strong. Mike had 2 children from his first marriage, and we proceeded to add 3 more Boys to the household over the next 6 years. What a House full. I still was missing something in my life and wanted to pursue my dream of working in the medical field as a nurse. I started PCC for 2 years and then was hired on as a Nurses Aide in Jan 1980 at St. Helens Hospital, I quickly cross trained in departments and finally found my calling in the emergency room 1 year later where I worked as an EMT while still attending classes and raising kids as time allowed. Then life through us a big curve ball, first we found out we both had a love for Stock Car Racing and helped form the Local Columbia County Racing Association in 1984, What a thrill! But in 1990 the rug was pulled out from underneath me! The Hospital Closed and I lost My Dream Job, No Job No more School!,But not to be detoured, I took a job immediately at a local Physical Therapy Office (Where I am still at today). We Continued to Race, then in 1991 I was hit literally in Face during a Racing event. Need less to say I have never been one to give up, so 6 wks later I jumped back in my Race Car and continued another year before we both retired from Racing and Started our next Journey, We bought our beautiful 10 acres in Deer Island and have never looked back. We Have 10 Beautiful Grandchildren 5 Boys and 5 Girls, and all of our Children are doing well and live in the local area. However, Back to the Racing Bug, our Youngest Justin Bud Russell started racing 6 years ago and just won his 4th Sportsman Championship. We live our Dreams though our Children and Grandchildren now. Lots and Lots of Sporting Events, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball you name it! We are truly Blessed and live life to the fullest every day! God Bless you All, and remember - The Spirit of 76 lives in us all! T
