Alright Nicholas Balzano took me long enough so here I go: (in no particular order) 1. Streetlight Manifesto-Everything Goes Numb (Taught me that verbose lyrics are acceptable and can be done tastefully) 2. Led Zeppelin - II (Taught me how to rock hard and how to gallop on my bass drum) 3. Derek and the Dominoes - Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs (taught me how to blues rock) 4. Black Sabbath - Paranoid (literally the first vinyl on which Ive ever dropped a needle. My earliest memory probably around 4yrs old asking dad to listen to Iron Man, he let me drop it mid disc; he was so proud!) 5. Bad Religion - The Process of Belief (punk rock isnt so plain and simple) 6. John Frusciante - The Will to Death (showed me how to break free of the usual verse/chorus/bridge style of writing. Also showed me how to incorporate my free verse poetry into lyrics) 7. Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf (No One Knows was the first drum solo I ever learned as is on the album. At age 10) 8. The Beatles - Abbey Road (all good things must come to an end. Might as well go out with a BANG!) 9. Stevie Wonder- Songs in the Key of Life (Proved to myself that I do love motown and subsequently opened the door for me to explore funk and other african american music of the 20th century) 10. Jonh Frusciante - The Empyrean (Changed the way I see the concepts of life and death for the rest of my life. Without this album Id be a different person psychologically.) Christian Hoffman James Mason Ben Golub John Feeney Manda Walters James Moran gimme your top ten!
