Alright, Sword Art Online II is completed, and say what you will - TopicsExpress

Alright, Sword Art Online II is completed, and say what you will about it but I like the concept, in fact, I am a strong supporter of virtual reality and its progression into the future. The plot, in this new season we pick up right after the events of the first season, which included the Aincrad and ALfheim Online Arcs. Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online games or VRMMOs have become a huge hit, and many genres have been introduced, so, of course, there are true FPS games, one such being Gun Gale Online (GGO). (I say true because the shooter is actually the player as the avatar and not just playing an avatar) We are introduced to a new character named Sinon who is a sniper in GGO and aims to win the Bullet of Bullets tournament which determines the top player of GGO. Sinon has a reason for doing this because of her fear of guns which has been used to torment and terrify her in her daily life, be they toys, dreams, even representations such as fingers can trigger her panic attacks, the only place this does not happen seems to be GGO. Can she conquer her fear and win the tournament? Also, it seems that players are being killed when a certain mysterious player shoots them... Is this even possible in a virtual world or is it just a scam? Enough plot, believe it or not, this is only information from one episode and only about 5 minutes of it. This season includes a few Arcs and stories that have different focuses, that is all I will say about those though. I want to say that this season focuses on both the negative and positive side of Virtual Reality much like the first season but more in-depth. Kirito does stick around for this season but now he is more laid-back and the focus is able to move around to other characters. I honestly did enjoy watching this quite a bit because it still has great animation, the music is awesome, and the concepts are not off-the-wall like other series may have, but again with games and Virtual Reality, depending on the designer the rules and limitations change. Some points to note are the amounts of dialogue that seems unnecessary at times but I understand that the detail can be hard to follow for first time viewers or people who dont know how games work so I will let that slide. I would like to discuss this further with anyone who has watched or is thinking of watching. Until the next one.
