Alright, for those who care, heres what I think about the movie - TopicsExpress

Alright, for those who care, heres what I think about the movie Noah. If you want to see a movie about the events of Genesis 6-9, then watch Veggie Tales, Minnesota Cuke and Noahs Umbrella, which by the way will vary greatly from the bible account…some consider that sacrilegious and blasphemous, I guess. If you want to go see how an atheist, Hollywood producer, makes a really cool movie from his point of view about a story in the bible….go! I think its an amazing movie. I didn’t go in, intending to scrutinize any of it though, probably just the opposite. This guy is totally creative and some of the non-biblical stuff is completely plausible, the other is just interesting in a similar way as the Lord of the Rings movies, Harry Potter movies and CS Lewis Chronicles on Narnia-though he said it had nothing to do with Jesus. It certainly is easy to see how it could be. I was moved near the end by what I perceived as God’s love. I don’t think the director purposely tried to show that. I think he wants to show that b/c God, or the Creator as he is called won’t “Speak out loud,” he doesn’t exist. I think I heard the word God 3, possibly 4 times. I could be wrong. Though, I haven’t read any reviews that didn’t say, “God was never referred to at all. So, those who are saying God is never mentioned are meaningless, drones in my opinion. It’s obvious God is the Creator,….you might watch scenes and say evolution is projected. I disagree. He certainly didn’t show a monkey turning into a human. And, he made it clear that certain things were made during a day, and that it was good....My God said that, not some Gnostic, New Age weird belief system. One question I kept hoping someone would answer w/o me having to ask was, did Aronofsky show that God put a rainbow in the sky? No review/critic Ive read even mentions that incredibly loving act of God that Aronofsky did choose to put in the movie......And wow, wow, it was amazing! Have you ever seen a picture of a rainbow from a plane above it? It’s a circle. I believe heaven is described as having a circle that sounds like a rainbow…I remember that from bible school, didn’t look it up, though So, thumbs up if you want to see a really interesting idea of life before Noah during, and after the flood, portrayed from the viewpoint of a talented, atheist’s mind...go and take all of your friends. Thumbs down if you only want to see a completely, explained, biblical account of the flood, like a children’s story, Want to pick at the meanings of things in the movie but not written in the bible, And chirp any motives you might think or care about concerning the directors choice of portraying a very cool bible event. swordofthekingdom/2014/03/31/noah-the-movie-my-contribution-to-the-noise/
